The Media section of the CMS is a library of all of the media files used throughout the site. Media can be uploaded, organised, renamed and deleted here. The Media Centre can be accessed when the 'Media' button is clicked via the top navigation.

When you open the Media Centre, you'll see there are some tabs at the top labelled 'Content images', 'Header images', and 'Documents'. Please see a breakdown of each below:

Content images

You will be navigated to this section initially upon opening the Media Centre. Images can be uploaded here by clicking the 'Upload' button. If you'd like to upload more than one image at a time, simply select all of the images you'd like to upload and then click 'Upload' in the small window when you are done. The window will tell you the maximum size that the images can be. If the images are too large, they will not be uploaded and you'll need to resize them before trying to upload them again.

Header images

If the site uses header images, they can be uploaded here, using the same upload process as the normal content images.

Documents

Documents with the following file extensions can be uploaded to the CMS:

  • .doc
  • .docx
  • .pdf
  • .xls
  • .xlsx
  • .txt
  • .zip
  • .ppt
  • .pptx
  • .msi
  • .exe

Once your documents have been uploaded to the Media Centre, you will then be able to insert them onto a page.

Files can be renamed in the media section, but if the image or document has been used on a page already, it will need to be replaced as the page will be pulling in an image/document with an old name and will not be able to find the file.
