SGGLA 2024: winners revealed
16i were delighted to present the award for the Cultural Venue of the Year 2024 at the renowned SoGlos Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards (SGGLA).
A prestigious and hotly contested accolade, the award was presented to Gloucester Cathedral, an iconic Gloucester landmark offering a stunning space for a variety of events and occasions.
Cultural Venue of the Year category 2024
- Winner: Gloucester Cathedral
- Highly commended: Painswick Rococo Garden
Set in the cultural setting of The Sub Rooms in Stroud, 16i were honoured to join the SGGLA headline sponsors, Pro Global at the exclusive live event on Thursday 16th May.
Guests were treated to a selection of 5* food and drink provided by the venue, whilst the event was compered by the BBC Points West presenter, Steve Knibbs.
With a record 250 businesses shortlisted and over 22,000 votes cast by SoGlos readers, the competition was fierce. Of those who entered, only the top contenders in each category were recognised as finalists; with the winners and highly commended businesses being chosen by a panel of judges, which consisted of representatives from the Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards category partners.
Managing Director of 16i, Alex Clough, said ‘We were delighted to sponsor the SGGLA for the seventh year running and were impressed by the quality of the entries for the Cultural Venue of the Year category. A huge congratulations to all the winners and finalists!’
In addition, and new to this year’s event was the Golden Ticket Giveaway- a luxury prize draw which helped to raise over £2,000 in just 2 hours for the Hollie Gazzard Trust.
